Spring Brake

I have been counting down the days till spring brake. Finally I am here in Palm springs enjoying the long hikes, war weather, pools and Coachella. Coachella is a big music festival which 10,000 people attend to see artists such as drake, Mac DeMarco, Tame Impala, and Father John Misty. I am thrilled to see all these artists

Communication Barriers

There is one person who attends Cal Coast that comes to mind when addressing this subject. He is a very inspirational person, he moved from Saudi Arabia here to San Diego, this is a hard change to cope with leaving behind all his friends and loved ones. I remember the first day he came to our school; he was so confident, I try to put myself in the same position, but I can't having to deal with the struggle of learning in a different language blows my mind. He moved here not knowing a word of English and today he is almost speaking it perfect. I am very glad to call some one as inspirational as him a friend.

What A Trip

Fiji was an amazing experience, Personally I loved all the swimming, snorkeling, soccer, rugby, and food but the greatest part of the whole trip is knowing that I made a difference. Building the skateboard ramp was much more than just "building a skateboard ramp" My experience doing it was incredible at first Thomas and I were sure we were going to knock out the project in almost two days, but we were completely wrong. It took almost the whole trip. I know Thomas and I would not have been able to complete the project with out the countless hours of help that Semi put in to help us. Of course when group of people work together for seven to complete a goal they become close. The first day we all got to know each other and how we work the process took time and it went slow. The second day our progress tripled because we learned how each other work. Semi, Thomas and I became quiet the team. As progress sped up we learned to trust each other with building certain parts. The project turned out beautiful, all the time, work, and effort ended in success. I learned so much about Semi and Thomas and now I feel that they are both true friends. I can't wait to go back and see everyone. I wonder what next years project will be...

Wrong Era

My father has always told me I was born into the wrong time period because of my love of classic rock, classic cars, and antiques. Right now I am in the process of find a late 60's muscle car in need of a lot of love. Once the right car is found the plan is to fix it up, sell it for more, buy another, and repeat the process.

My hero

Who is my hero? Could it be Batman, Spiderman or some other guy trying to rid the world of danger? No. My hero is way better than any superhero or movie star. My hero is my Mother. Through all the hard times in life my mother has never given up, she has persevered through every obstacle in life. My mom has always been there for me she has found the perfect balance between work and home to be able to take care of me and my sister. Sometimes I can't believe how she can do so much in one day! Everything she has done has been a huge inspiration, one day I hope to be as amazing of a parent as she is to me. All I can say is thank you for everything she has done for me.

The trip reinforced my hopes to becoming a doctor, also it inspired me! The Mission has inspired me to work towards building my own medical mission in Dominican Republic when I am older.
